Dr. Melia facilitates diagnosis, treatment and education about illness to empower people to become experts in healthy living. He primarily sees preadolescents, 11 years old or above, and adults, practicing Family Medicine. He also attends to prenatal care and vaginal deliveries. He is particularly interested in skin conditions, Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and related illness, and Nutrition/Health.
Dr. Melia received his BA in Biology from Northwestern University in 1985, going on to complete his MD within the Northwestern University School of Medicine in 1989. He completed his residency in West Suburban Hospital Family Medicine Residency in 1992. Dr. Melia was board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in 1992 and recertified in both 1999 and 2006. He is part of the Fellow American Academy of Family Practice (FAAFP) and the Member American Academy of Family Medicine (AAFP). Furthermore he is connected to the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and the Christian Community Health Fellowship.
He enjoys camping, white water rafting, bicycling, technology and word games such as “words with friends”.
