  • 8 years as a senior leader at Lawndale Christian Health Center - most recently as Chief Ministry Officer and Vice President of Mission & Community Engagement

  • 11 years as Senior Pastor of Harmony Community Church in North Lawndale

  • 8 years as the Director of Youth Ministry at Grace Lutheran Church

  • Board Chairperson for the Christian Community Health Fellowship (CCHF)

  • Board Chairperson for Harmony Community Cares

  • Board member for Lawndale Christian Legal Center

  • Board member for North Lawndale College Prep High School

  • As a resident of North Lawndale with deep familial ties to the community since 1955, James Brooks loves the neighborhood and has an understanding of the needs that residents face

James will enter this role with the affirmation and support of LCHC’s Organizational Leadership Team members - who collectively hold more than 110 years of experience with our organization. As we look forward to the future, we know that James’ vision for LCHC is one of ongoing community partnerships that work for the good of our patients, staff, and neighbors; keeping LCHC advancing toward greater diversity, equity, and inclusion at every level; maintaining excellence in our services as we expand our impact; and approaching every decision with prayer-filled humility.

Bruce Miller, former CEO of Lawndale Christian Health Center

Bruce Miller will retire in December of 2021, after 24 years serving at LCHC. He and his wife Kathryn will continue to live in North Lawndale. Bruce is looking forward to traveling, playing tennis, and continuing the friendships that have made Lawndale home. Join us in honoring his commitment to LCHC and praying for his next chapter.
