Remembering Dr. Janice Rossbach
In Loving Memory
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8
January, 2020 – Our hearts are heavy with the passing of Dr. Janice Rossbach. Dr. Rossbach was one of LCHC’s founding physicians and served LCHC for 32 years. She retired in 2016 as she began to battle Alzheimer’s disease.
Jan was quiet and humble and lived a life dedicated to the mission of LCHC. She moved from North Lawndale out to Rockford to care for her aging parents, but still continued to commute to work and serve her patients. She was a mentor and friend to many LCHC staff over her three decades.
Her husband Bill, shared the following, “Janice told me several years ago that she went to Lawndale four days a week because when she was there, she had fun. So, to everyone who helped make it fun for Janice, thank you and God bless.”
In her reflections on our 30th Anniversary, Dr. Rossbach shared, “When I first came to Lawndale in May of 1983, the clinic was still a dream. I attended Lawndale Community Church, which was then quite small. As I became involved in several church ministries, I grew to love the people and kids who were part of the church. I felt their desire to strengthen the community, and I felt God wanted me to be part of the medical clinic.”
“I pray that we continue to have godly employees who care about people, employees who see their role as more than just a job, but as a means of loving their neighbors. A few of my patients have been with me since we first opened our doors. Maintaining long-term relationships with patients remains one of my most gratifying experiences. I am overwhelmed by what God has accomplished here and by the gifted and godly people He has used to bring about this amazing miracle. I am honored to be a part of it. I expect we will continue to grow.”
Let’s honor her legacy by continuing to Love God and Love People.
