Back to School Bash 2026
Join us for the 8th Annual Back to School Bash hosted by Lawndale Christian Health Center and Harmony Community Church! Mark your calendars for August 13th, from 4pm to 6pm at Harmony Community Church, located at 1908 S Millard Ave. We're so excited to host you all again for this fun family event.
This year will feature a dry slide, an inflatable basketball hoop, delicious food, and valuable resources from community organizations. Kids in grades K-12 will receive a packet with a notebook, folder, pencil, and a $20 Walmart gift card for school supplies to kickstart the school year. *While Supplies lasts.
Remember, children MUST be present to receive their supplies.
The Great Lawndale Blood Drive
Join us on Sunday, August 23rd from 8am-2pm to donate blood and help save lives! All donors will receive a $20 gift e-card as a thank-you. Your generosity can make a significant difference—come out and give the gift of life!
Please make sure to eat healthy and drink plenty of fluids before donating blood. The blood drive will be taking place inside the 3860 W. Ogden (Gym).

North Lawndale Juneteenth Parade
Join us for the 2nd Annual North Lawndale Juneteenth Parade on Friday, June 19th, starting at 9AM. The parade will proceed from 1600 S Albany to 1600 S Kostner. Celebrate freedom and community with local performances, a community breakfast, artists, vibrant floats, and much more. Don’t miss this powerful and joyful event honoring Juneteenth in North Lawndale!

Celebrate the 5th running of the Bank of America Chicago 13.1 with the West Side Wellness Fest! Come to Garfield Park on Saturday June 6 from 7am-11am for a celebration of movement, wellness and the vibrant culture of Chicago’s West Side.
Douglass Park Kite Festival
Join us for food, music, artmaking, community fun, and of course — KITES! Everyone loves flying a kite, but many of us haven’t done it in years. Bring the family, pack a picnic blanket, and come enjoy a joyful day in the park. Don’t have a kite? A limited number of free kites will be available while supplies last.
Event Location Note: The festival will take place on the south side of California Ave. + Ogden Avenue near the turf soccer field, tennis courts, and Willow Pond in Douglass Park.

Join us for The North Lawndale Ride: Exploring Equiticity’s Neighborhood Mobility Models on Saturday, May 30, 2026. This community ride is an opportunity to learn more about neighborhood mobility, transportation equity, and the work happening across North Lawndale to support safer, more connected, and more accessible ways to move through our community.
We will meet at 9:00 AM and the ride will begin at 10:00 AM.

Spring Fling
This Spring Fling for the community will be held at 18th & Kildare from 3:00pm - 6:00pm on Sunday, April 19th in Chicago. It will include a Bike Giveaway for ages 16 and under (parent must be present), planting flowers, a game truck, bouncy house, music, food, and more
Douglass Park Earth Day Clean Up
Earth Day is a time to come together and care for the shared spaces. Join the community for an Earth Day Clean-up at Douglass Park on April 18th from 9am-1pm. Bring the whole family to help beautify the park, connect with neighbors, and enjoy refreshments and creative activities in celebration of Earth Day. Let's show love to our community together!
Garfield Park Family Skate
Come out to Garfield Park for Family Skate every third Thursday of the month from 6 PM to 8 PM. Roller skate rentals are free, courtesy of the Chicago Park District, but you're welcome to bring your own skates. Enjoy music from a DJ and snacks from concession stands that will be available. This event is open to all ages, and there is no admission fee. We look forward to seeing you there!
Chicago Go Run
