Dr. Torres is a Behavioral Health Psychologist and the Director of Behavioral Health and Pastoral Care at the Ogden site of LCHC. Her passion for social justice led her here in 2007 to provide mental health services to a community that could benefit from these services. She does behavioral health consultations with children, adults, and elderly and collaborates with their physicians regarding their medical care and mental health needs as well as medication management. She is also part of a multidisciplinary HIV clinic to providing mental health services to our HIV population in collaboration with their physician, pharmacists, HIV nurse educator and case manager. One of her passions is to teach and supervise doctoral students training at our clinic in collaboration with Chicago Area Christian Training Consortium. In all of these practices she hopes to reflect the love of God and be the hands and feet of Christ by touching the lives of the patients and serving them in whatever capacity God grants.
She completed her undergraduate with Rollins College in Winter Park, FL. She earned her doctorate of Psychology from Wheaton College in 2007 and completed a pre-doctoral internship with Cornerstone Counseling Center of Chicago. She is currently pursuing her post-doctoral MS in psychopharmacology through Farleigh Dickenson University in order to increase her ability to collaborate with their physicians in terms of psychotropic medication management as well as hoping to serve in the role of Licensed Prescribing Psychologist in the future.
